Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF)
The Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) is a professional standards framework developed through the work of the Social Work Reform Board. It is designed to provide:
• Consistent expectations of social workers at every stage in their career
•A backdrop to both initial social work education and continuing professional development
• A framework around which social workers can plan their careers and professional
The 9 interdependent domains reflect the complexity of social work practice and the interplay of knowledge, skills and values. There are 9 levels from entry to social work through to senior/strategic level.
