Privacy statement Camden

OD and L&D is strongly committed to protecting personal data. This privacy statement describes why and how we collect and use data and provides information about individuals’ rights. It applies to personal data provided to us, both by individuals themselves or by others. We may use personal data given to us for any of the purposes described in this privacy statement or as otherwise stated at the point of collection.

“Camden OD and L&D” (and “we”, “us”, or “our”) refers to Camden Learning and Development. Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable living person. When “you” or “your” are used in this statement, we are referring to the relevant individual who is the subject of the personal data.

Camden L&D processes personal data for learning and development purposes such as reporting on attendance and monitoring the quality of our provision. The lawful basis for processing data is contract and public task. When collecting and using personal data, our policy is to be transparent about why and how we process personal data. We will share your data within London Borough of Camden and with the organisation you work for. Your data is never shared with a third party. We hold data for no more than seven years.




Bookings can be made online either by individuals or via the organisations’ CPD (continuing professional development) leader (usually the manager). All bookings require a CPD leader’s authorisation and will not be confirmed without it.

Places on all events must be pre-booked. Early booking is advised to secure a place. The closing date for bookings will be the start time of the event unless otherwise stated.

Most courses are booked on a first come first served basis, unless otherwise stated.

Camden OD and L&D reserves the right to limit the number of delegates from one organisation to a maximum of 3.

CPD leaders must ensure that attendees are only booked onto events appropriate to their professional development. Some events may specify selection criteria.

When the course being applied for is fully booked, you will be placed on a waiting list. Camden OD and L&D will send a confirmation of your place if one becomes available. Waiting list bookings are not automatically booked onto future courses.


Changes to courses


Every attempt will be made to deliver the event in the form described on TDSOnline. When there are significant changes participants will be notified prior to the start of the event.

If a course has to be postponed or cancelled, Camden OD and L&D will notify booked participants at the earliest opportunity.




Course fees are detailed in the course outline and vary according to membership category.

For courses that carry a cost the charges are applicable and due on confirmation of booking.

For all bookings made by Non-Members and Care Affiliates, payment will be required in advance of booking the course. In the event of cancellations or non-attendance, the booking fee will not be refunded.


Booking cancellation and non-attendance by participant


All delegate cancellations must be made online or in writing to before the start of the event. Please ensure a copy of the cancellation email is retained. Cancellation after the start of the course, or not at all, may be subject to a non-attendance penalty charge.

Delegates should contact several days in advance should they need to arrive late for a course, and arrangements will be made if possible. Pease note that it is not
possible to make late arrival arrangements for any first aid training due to the nature of the course. Participants will not be allowed access to courses if they arrive later than 15 minutes after the course begins without prior arrangement.


ILM fees and cancellation charges


All delegates must pay their booking fee in advance when booking on an ILM course.

Please note the minimum cancellation period for all ILM courses is one calendar month. If you cancel one calendar month or more before the course, Camden OD and L&D will refund your booking fee in full.

If you cancel less than one month before the course, Camden OD and L&D will retain 100% of your booking fee.




Each attendee will be expected to give an evaluation of the event. Depending on the activity this may be in the form of online evaluations or, for conferences and other events, in the form of evaluation sheets.

Participant’s managers may also be asked for feedback.


Inclusion and equality


It is the responsibility of the delegate to make Camden OD and L&D aware of any specific requirement upon booking. Every effort will be made to support individuals’ to access training.
