This course is suitable for all staff with relevant responsibility.

What does this event cover

This training will develop First Aid performance and skill retention as well as underpinning knowledge to react in a safe, prompt and effective manner to emergency First Aid situations. To develop excellent technique in CPR using role-play in order to perform First Aid to a high standard. To respond within the guidelines laid down by the HSE as well as the UK Resuscitation Council and ILCoR. The FAAW Course is a relatively in depth First Aid Course designed for those who work in a medium to high-risk environment or others whose post or role might become high risk at short notice. It is an industry recognised, certificated course valid for 3 years with the strong recommendation of 3-hour refresher course at the 12 and 24-month period of certification.

1. Delegates are advised to wear comfortable clothing to enable them to carry out practical physical demands throughout the training. Skirts are not advised. 2. Delegates should consider their individual capability with regard to injuries or illnesses when attending this course. 3. It is recommended that pregnant women postpone this course until after the birth of their child. This is due to the practical nature of the course. 4. Delegates should immediately stop any activity and inform the trainer if at any time during the course they feel any pain / muscle tension or any other stress and / or discomfort. 5. Those of a sensitive nature or recently bereaved may wish to discuss (in confidence) with the Instructor prior to enrolling on the course (0800 043 3822) 6. Accredited certificates take on average 6/8 weeks to be issued.

By attending this course you are agreeing to become a First Aider and provide treatment if someone is injured or taken ill so it is important that you are predominantly office based and be able to respond quickly in the event of an incident. For this role you will receive an allowance of £12 per month which will only be paid once you submit your certificate of attendance to
