This is an essential half day course for those who use, or may use, ladders and stepladders in the course of their work.
This course aims to provide staff with health and safety information and practical exercises in relation to the safe use of ladders and stepladders, and covers: ¦ Safety and local code of practice; ¦ Moving ladders and stepladders; ¦ Checking ladders and stepladders; ¦ Securing ladders and stepladders; ¦ Ladder aids - levellers, stabilisers, stand offs; ¦ Ladder types - single and double extension. By the end of the course delegates will: ¦ Be aware of health and safety legislation and their responsibilities in relation to the use of ladders and stepladders; ¦ Be aware of any local codes of practice; ¦ Know how to safely use ladders and stepladders.
Bring your risk assessment, if available, for use in the session.
